Water, Water, Water!!!

When I'm even more enthused than usual (yes, that's possible) I feel the compulsion to write the topic of my post thrice.  Well, I'm a serious fan of water!  I'm only focussing upon drinking water for this post but I will gladly revisit how wonderful water is in other ways as well.

If you live in NYC, you have probably heard a million times about how fantastic our tap water is . . . So, if you're trying to quench your thirst tap water is an excellent and inexpensive choice!  Therefore, if you decide to go to a fine restaurant during the Winter Restaurant Week (more on that in my Winter Restaurant Week Post) you can save a lot by not having a soda, sparkling water or particularly, alcohol, which is incredibly marked up, as you know.

Also, it's amazing how much you can save by not buying water or other drinks when you're out!  Depending upon which part of the City you're in, you can end up easily spending $3 or more for your beverage.  If you want to drink while you're out, you can make sure you bring your water with you like many people do nowadays!

But, do you feel like not adding the weight of the water to your already heavy backpack?  Or did you drink the water you had?  If the answer to either of these questions is yes, you probably want to know where good water fountains are for filling up!  Here are just a few of many possible place you can go . . .

1.  If you're running around the Reservoir or playing tennis at the Central Park Tennis Center between 96th and 93rd Street, the water fountain there has great water.

2.  You can also fill up your water bottle at Trader Joes's, which is a delightful place to save money in general, too . . . more on that . . .

3.  The famous department store, Macy's (another place that you might find yourself shopping for bargains) has a water fountain in its famous basement -- The Cellar.

Also, for those of you who like to really travel light -- there are now a number of nice, foldable water bottles that you can easily carry in even a small bag.

Do you have any other water fountains you recommend?

Cheers!
